The completed Shawlette

I finally finished and blocked my shawl!
My blocking board is a Taylor guitar box, but it actually works quite well.

KAL - La Sarita Shawlette by Janet Weston

I am participating in a KAL on Ravelry. The pattern was designed by Janet Weston and is called La Sarita. I chose Dream in Color yarn in the colorway of Frozen Fire for my project. This was a fun pattern to knit and I enjoyed knitting it. The stitches were interesting and kept it from being boring. I chose matte beads for the it.
I have finished the shawl, and have blocked it. I will post pictures when it is finished blocking.

Fingerless Armwarmers

I needed a gift, so I decided to make armwarmers as the person they are for lives in a cold winter climate. I had this beautiful Cascade 128 yarn in a lovely gray shade. I improvised as I went along. I wanted something simple, yet interesting, so when I got to the wrists, I decided to add some more ribbing. I think they turned out just right. You can wear them over your elbow,
or pushed down.
Thanks to my lovely daughter for modeling them for me.

I knitted this shawl from Lion Brand Cotton Ease for a Lion Brand Swap. It was so easy and fun to knit, and I love the color. I think it turned out lovely.
My beautiful daughter, Miakoda was sweet enough to model for me.
The pattern came from the Spring/Summer issue of Vogue Knitting.
I think I will knit one for myself for the fall.
These Handwarmers were knit for the same swap. I knitted them from Red Heart Eco-Ways Bamboo Wool, from a pattern in Jane Austen Knits 2011. I changed the picot edging on the pattern, because I didn't like the way the edging looked. I made a smaller picot edging, it seemed much neater to me.
Once again my lovely daughter, Miakoda modeled for me.

Fixing the problem

I took out about 20 rows and knit them in the toe yarn, so I think it will work.
So now I am at the part where I start the heel.

Problem

I was flying along on my next Basketweave socks when I got to the place where I do the foot increases, then everything went haywire. The rows that were going around so nicely, turned into blocks of migrating color. You would thing I would stop before I knitted 20 something rows, but I just kept on knitting. Now I have had to stop and rip back to the increase rows, and try to figure out what to do next.

My Swap Package

I belong to the Lion Brand Swaps forum on Ravelry and we recently had a Winter Wonderland swap.  My partner sent me the following swap package.
It is a wonderful package. I have been wanting tip protectors and stitch markers for a long time, but have been too cheap to buy them. Just look at all the wonderful things in the package. She crocheted a little bag and stuffed it full of goodies.
I just love everything, row counters, yarn sleeves, buttons, cable needles, pom-pom maker, portable scissors, needle protectors, a little bag of buttons and needles, wow!
There were skeins of yarn, Debbie Bliss Riva, Debbie Bliss Aran Tweed, Lion Brand Amazing and Wisdom Yarns Poems.
A pair of mittens with a hand crocheted flower.
Stitch Markers
Lollipops
A loom and hook

A knitting gauge
A hand stitched bag filled with wonderful edible goodies! The little bag has coffee cups on it.
And this beautiful hand crocheted scarf. I love the color. A great big thank you to my swap partner.
